Want to embark on a career in stage and film acting?

Applications are open for the 2026/2029 Three-Year Programme at Calabria Acting School. The programme trains professional actors through three years of work on body, voice, stage and camera.

  • Send two videos, a monologue and a poem, by 31 August 2026.
  • Receive the results within two weeks.
  • If eligible, access the on-site interview.
  • The best application will receive a scholarship.

  • In-person auditions: every Saturday in September and October 2026, 4:00–7:00 pm.

The School

SRC, founded and directed by Walter Cordopatri and academically coordinated by Giorgio Colangeli, is supported by the Municipality of Cittanova and collaborates with the Giffoni Film Festival, ArtEZ University of the Arts and the I.K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television.

Three years. Three acts.

Act I · Body and Voice

The first year develops vocal and physical skills, improvisation, emotional awareness, breathing techniques, diction and dramaturgy.

12 subjects: Acting 1, Acting 2, Acting 3, Diction, Dance, Singing, Acrobatics, Yoga, Dynamoplastics, Dramaturgy 1, Improvisation 1 and Stage Combat.

Act II · The Stage

The second year focuses on theatre: stage awareness, ethics, the history and evolution of theatre, stage movement, interpretation and character work. At the end of the year the class stages a theatre production.

17 subjects: Acting 1 and 2, Costa Method, Clowning and Juggling, Dance Theatre, Theatre Ethics, History of Theatre, Fencing, Poetry, Elements of Mime, Improvisation 2, Music Theory, Theatre Directing, Stage Design, Feldenkrais Method, Expressive Reading and Lighting Design 1.

Act III · The Camera

The third year addresses cinema, the set and the professional world: screen acting, character study, directing and every stage of audiovisual production. The diploma project is guided by a professional director.

17 subjects: Acting 1, Acting 2 — Stanislavski Method, Techniques and Methods, Mimicry, Micro-expression and Proxemics, History of Cinema, Film Analysis, Film Directing, Makeup and Image, Career Training, Horse Riding, Dubbing, Film Set Design, Screenwriting, Film Production, Lighting Design 2, Acting and Costume Design 2.

Two admission routes

1 · Free remote pre-audition

From 13 July to 31 August 2026, you can apply from home. Use the same name and email address for every step:

  1. Complete the online aptitude questionnaire.
  2. Record two HD 1080p videos.
  3. After the questionnaire, upload both videos directly through the secure form.

Video 1: a brief self-introduction and a monologue of your choice, not a dialogue, up to 3 minutes.

Video 2: a poem performed from memory, up to 1 minute 30 seconds.

The school will communicate the result within two weeks. Successful candidates will be invited to Cittanova for the final interview.

Self-tape guidance

  • Use a close-up or medium shot.
  • Record clear audio with frontal light, never backlight.
  • Look close to the camera as if looking at a scene partner.
  • If using a smartphone, film horizontally.
  • Name each file with your first and last name.
  • Perform both the poem and monologue from memory.
  • Keep each file below 100 MB. Recommended format: MP4, 1080p.

2 · Free in-person audition

Auditions take place every Saturday in September and October 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, at the SRC campus in Cittanova.

  • A monologue of your choice, performed from memory, not necessarily theatrical.
  • An Italian poem of your choice, performed from memory.
  • A final aptitude interview.

Annual fees

  • First year: €3,480.
  • Second year: €3,720.
  • Third year: €4,080.

Fees can be paid in one instalment, four quarterly instalments or twelve monthly instalments. The enrolment fee is included. Partner accommodation is available for students moving to Cittanova.

Academic regulations

Art. 1 · Admission

Successful candidates must submit an identity document, health card, upper secondary school diploma, medical fitness certificate and payment receipts.

Art. 2 · Fees and payments

Annual fees are €3,480, €3,720 and €4,080. A €25 late fee applies for every 30 days of delay. Full payment details are provided by the school office to admitted students.

Art. 3 · Withdrawal

Students may withdraw without additional costs by 31 December 2026. After that date, the financial obligations in the enrolment agreement apply.

Art. 4 · Replacement

If a student withdraws, another eligible candidate may be admitted according to the merit ranking and the Directorate’s decision.

Art. 5 · Contact details

Before the course begins, each student provides their address, residence, email and phone number and reports any later changes.

Art. 6 · Course delivery

Activities run from November to June, normally 9:00 am–6:00 pm on weekdays excluding Saturday. Rehearsals and productions may require evening or holiday work.

Art. 7 · Assessment

Every subject has a final assessment and may include written, oral or practical interim assessments. Progression to the next year is decided by the Directorate.

Art. 8 · Diploma project

The final project normally consists of an audiovisual work written and performed by the students and directed by a teacher or industry professional.

Art. 9 · Works produced

Works created during the programme belong to SRC, without prejudice to authors’ moral rights and the agreements signed at enrolment.

Art. 10 · Attendance

Attendance is compulsory. A minimum attendance rate of 80% is required to progress to the next year.

Art. 11 · Materials

Students are responsible for shared equipment and materials and must promptly report any problems.

Art. 12 · Discipline

Warnings and, in serious or repeated cases, expulsion may be applied according to the Directorate’s decisions.

Art. 13 · Scholarship

At the end of the auditions, a scholarship will be awarded to the strongest candidate under the dedicated regulations.

Art. 14 · Final provisions
