About us

The School

SRC is a professional acting school based in Cittanova, Calabria. It trains actors for theatre, film and television through an integrated approach to movement, voice, interpretation and stage presence.

The School

Actor training, technique and creative enquiry

SRC—Calabria Acting School—was founded in Cittanova to make comprehensive actor training available in Calabria. It welcomes both those taking their first steps in acting and those who want to pursue it professionally, with programmes designed for different ages, ambitions and levels of experience.

Training at SRC is practical and sustained. Technique, personal enquiry and performance practice develop side by side. Movement, voice, listening, imagination and the relationship with fellow performers become the tools through which each student learns to create a character and bring truth to a performance.

What the School sets out to develop

  • Command of the actor’s expressive resources, body and voice.
  • Stage presence, active listening and awareness of space.
  • Methods for analysing a text, building a character and shaping a performance.
  • Greater self-knowledge through individual and ensemble work.
  • The preparation and independence needed for both stage and screen.
  • A practical approach to auditions and castings for theatre, film and television.

From training to professional opportunity

Learning extends beyond regular classes. Workshops, seminars and encounters with actors, directors, casting directors and other practitioners introduce students to different methods, creative languages and the day-to-day realities of the profession.

Over the years, SRC has developed relationships with agencies, production companies, festivals, universities and international drama schools. These connections create opportunities to take part in theatre, film and television castings, contribute to the School’s original productions, join intercultural exchanges and broaden professional experience.

SRC programmes

The Three-Year Professional Programme is designed for students preparing for a career as an actor. The SRC acting labs give children, teenagers and adults a structured way to develop expression, listening, confidence and an awareness of others.

Teaching is led by a faculty of working professionals from theatre, film, television, voice and movement. Their disciplines differ, but their purpose is shared: to give every student reliable tools for the stage, the set and the working life of an actor.
