From training to performance
In Year Two, the tools developed during the first year become material for performance. Students encounter more complex texts, characters and relationships, learning to sustain an action, share rhythm with an ensemble and create a credible presence before an audience.
Analysis is never detached from practice: each choice grows out of the text, the body and an active awareness of what is happening in the scene.
The languages of the stage
The programme develops acting, improvisation, the Costa method, dance theatre, clowning, mime, stage combat, expressive reading and vocal work. Theatre history, set and costume design, lighting and directing reveal how a production is brought to life.
Individual work is interwoven with ensemble practice, preparing students to take creative responsibility and collaborate with directors, technicians and fellow performers.
