Outdoor actor training

SRC OpenAir

Actor training leaves the studio and encounters the Calabrian landscape, turning nature, space and real conditions into creative material.

SRC OpenAir

The landscape as a place of training

SRC OpenAir takes part of the School’s training beyond the studio. Woods, riverbeds, hills, beaches and urban spaces become places in which to sharpen listening, presence and the ability to respond to circumstances that cannot be controlled.

The landscape is more than a backdrop. Sound, distance, light, terrain and weather alter the actor’s body and voice and demand genuine adaptation.

Freedom through precision

Working outdoors breaks familiar habits and automatic responses. Students learn to focus attention, measure energy, relate to space and turn the unexpected into a creative possibility.

The project complements the Three-Year Professional Programme and other areas of the School’s work, extending studio practice into a radically different environment.
