Building the foundations
Year One introduces and organises the actor’s essential tools. Students learn to listen, inhabit the space, work as an ensemble and recognise habits or tensions that restrict expressive freedom.
Body and voice are trained as one. Technique is not used to impose a model, but to make each student’s communication more precise, responsive and conscious.
Disciplines and practice
Acting, improvisation, speech, voice, singing, movement, physical preparation and dance theatre form the practical core of the year. Theatre history, music, introductory make-up and an understanding of stage space broaden that foundation.
Individual exercises, ensemble work and early encounters with texts and scenes allow students to turn new skills into lived experience.
