Professional actor training

Three-Year Professional Programme

Three years of intensive training designed to develop technique, awareness and independence in the actor’s work, from the stage to the camera.

A programme for aspiring professional actors

SRC’s Three-Year Professional Programme is designed for students seeking rigorous preparation for theatre, film and television. Admission is by audition, giving the School an opportunity to meet each candidate, understand their motivation and identify the potential to be developed.

Across the three years, disciplines are taught in dialogue with one another. Students progress from a command of the actor’s basic tools to character and scene work, before moving towards screen performance and the practical demands of the profession.

Body, voice, text and ensemble

Training combines acting, improvisation, speech, voice, singing, movement, dance theatre and physical preparation. Theatre and film history, set design, costume and technical stage languages support the practical work and help students understand the creative process as a whole.

Classes take place in the School’s studios and performance spaces. Through SRC OpenAir, students also work in natural settings that sharpen listening, presence and adaptability.
