“Being more – Conquering a dream” created by the Prosopon Association and the SRC – Calabria Acting School is a project based on the interaction between young non-EU citizens and Italians, with the aim of exploring the theme of emigration, human rights and integration in the Calabrian territory.

The young people involved - young non-EU citizens and Italians - staged a symbolic journey starting from Lagos (Nigeria), passing through Tripoli (Libya) and ending on the Italian coast. On this journey, dreams, hope, fear and the desire for a new life bring out one of the tragedies that our era is facing. The fundamental objective of the project is to capture the differences between habits and customs that each character brings with them, in order to structure an intercultural exchange that promotes the awareness of being all "in the same boat". An intense work that brings attention
especially the emotional suffering of the interpreters. The protagonists, all different from each other by gender, ethnicity and religion, immediately rediscover themselves united in the same battle against their destiny.

The project was represented both through a theatrical show, on 2 July 2018 at the external theater of the Polo Solidale per la Legalità di Cittanova Francesco Vinci"; and with a short film, shot in the Municipality of Oppido Mamertina, where the municipal administration and the mayor have since
immediately married and shared the project.

Furthermore, the screening took place on 11 December 2018 inside the premises of the Polo Solidale per la Legalità, headquarters of the SRC, in the presence of the director, the "actors" and the entire crew.

The children who took part in the project are young people who reside at the Comunità Luigi Monti in Polistena, a family home for minors.
