The film "The Encounter", the second work by, is now available on the digital platforms Amazon Prime, Chili and VatiVision Salvatore Romano, director of Taurianova and teacher of the Calabria Acting School. The film, produced by Marvaso Productions and supported by the Calabria Film Commission and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which stars the young Rizziconi actor Giuseppe Marvaso, was shot entirely in Calabria, in the Pollino Park, between Mormanno, Laino Castello and San Nicola Arcella (CS). The presence of the SRC is strong in the film, in addition to the director, who is a professor of Film Direction, several actors also come from the School. The cast includes: the director and creator as main actors Walter Cordopatri, the educational coordinator Giorgio Colangeli; Federica Sottile, graduating from SRC e Annalisa Schiavone, graduated from SRC. The students also participated as special figures Archangel Deleus, graduating from SRC; Hamed Afolabi; Sergio Nicolaci And Vincenzo Calogero. To complete the cast - which includes Peppe Zarbo, Nina Soldano, Daniela Fazzolari and Antonio Tallura - also 50 extras among the various students of the SRC MasterClasses and Labs.
The film tells the story of 33-year-old Paolo who, after serving 10 years in prison, is entrusted to a recovery community. The young man carries within him a strong sense of guilt for a serious episode for which he was responsible and the community priest, played by Giorgio Colangeli, tries in every way to help him, even entrusting him with a task, namely that of bringing a large crucifix back to an abandoned church from where it had been taken away a few years earlier. For Paolo this "journey" will be the opportunity to "go" back and face all the ghosts of his past. The premiere of the film will be held in Mormanno, in the municipal cinema, on 15 or 22 May, compatibly with the current pandemic emergency situation. Great satisfaction was expressed by the Calabria Acting School for this umpteenth "test" to which the students were called. «It is a source of pride for us – stated director Cordopatri – to train young people and start them directly into the world of work.
