November 22nd was one historic day for the Calabria Acting School.
The Municipality of Palmi has officially entrusted us with the enhancement of Villa Pietrosa, ancient home of Leonida Repaci.
For the next ones ten years we will take care of this "Paradise of the soul", taking care of it and enhancing it with the organization and creation of artistic events And cultural.
We will do it with “The Gust”, the new reality that we have created together withPrometeus ODV-Palmi cultural association by Saverio Petitto and toAgricultural company of the president. Prince Christmas.
The Prometeus company will create the Museum dedicated to the works of Leonida Repaci, while the Natale Princi agricultural company will manage the 12 hectares of greenery that surround Villa Pietrosa and will create a project of suspended natural beach dwhich, however, we cannot reveal anything about. We as SRC will take care of the logistical, organizational and artistic-cultural part.
The project was born from the expression of interest announced by the Municipality of Palmi to which we responded by expressing our willingness to take charge of the entire complex.
The goal is to make Villa Pietrosa a a place open to culture and art, a place you can live and visit in its own beauty and naturalistic richness. A place that can attract and bring together artists, inspire their projects, just as Leonida Repaci himself did at the time with the greatest artists of the twentieth century, including Mondadori and Bompiani.
Why The Burst
La Raffica is the title of a work by Leonida Repaci that we wanted to pay homage to. In addition to being a tribute to his art, "La Raffica" reflects our desire to do something events that follow one another, without stopping, in rapid bursts, with the energy that has always distinguished us.
This will be our commitment to reciprocate the great trust of the mayor of Palmi, Giuseppe Ranucci, whom we thank, and our gift to the community of Palmi and beyond.
Who was Leonida Repaci
Leonida Repaci was a prominent personality in the culture and politics of the twentieth century.
Born in Palmi, he was simultaneously a lawyer, journalist, writer and painter.
An intellectual and critical voice in post-war Italy, he directed and collaborated with various newspapers, including Il Tempo and La Stampa and founded the Viareggio Literary Prize. Some of his major works were written in Villa Pietrosa and many of his most profound verses are dedicated to his Palmi.

The legacy of Villa Pietrosa is that of a contemplative place, distant from the centre, a place of the soul, as Leonida Repaci defined it.
Here the writer used to retreat to write, spending a lot of time with his beloved wife Albertina Antonielli.
One of the most beautiful points of Villa Repaci is the guardhouse, which has the shape of the bow of a swordfish fishing ship. Made of stone, the guardhouse is a spectacular view of the immensity of the sea, from where you can see the coast and the Aeolian Islands, a Paradise for the soul, Leonida Repaci was right, which reminds us of the beauty of seeing the world from here.
