The presentation of the School Experience Festival project, conceived by Giffoni Experience, will be held on Monday 6 May, at the Cinema Teatro "Gentile" in Cittanova (RC), which will involve hundreds of children from the secondary schools of Cittanova and Rizziconi in autumn (from 4 to 8 November) in a Film Festival dedicated to them and created in partnership with the SRC - Calabria Acting School, directed by Walter Cordopatri and sponsored by the municipal administration of Cittanova. School Experience Festival is a traveling festival, created as part of the National Cinema Plan for Schools and promoted by MIUR and MIBAC, which will involve four cities - San Donà di Piave, Cittanova, Nuoro and Palermo - created by Giffoni Experience, with the aim of raising awareness and training school students of all levels - primary, lower secondary and upper secondary - through the use of cinematographic and audiovisual language.
In fact, the aim of Giffoni Experience has always been to involve young people. An objective that is renewed thanks to this new project which takes on considerable importance precisely because it is a traveling festival. Meeting young people from all over Italy, not only ideally but also physically, means responding to their expectations and needs, acting in the area by transforming difficulties - social and economic fragility, educational poverty and lack of services and infrastructures - into opportunities.
Thanks to this project, the link between the SRC - Calabria Acting School and the Giffoni Experience is further consolidated, a collaboration started more than two years ago, at the birth of the SRC, and which today materializes in activities and projects of considerable educational and cultural importance. The following will speak at the presentation of the School Experience Festival project: the creator, founder and director of Giffoni Claudio Gubitosi, the director of the SRC Walter Cordopatri. An extraordinary presence will be that of Giorgio Colangeli, educational coordinator of the SRC. The mayor of Cittanova, Dr. Francesco Cosentino, and the mayor of Rizziconi, Dr. Alessandro Giovinazzo will also bring their greetings. During the meeting, which will be attended by the students of the schools involved, the short film "Christmas Surprise" will also be presented, the latest SRC production, directed by Salvatore Romano, a well-known director and teacher of the School, who will illustrate the work. The activities of May 6th will not end at the end of the presentation, but will continue in the afternoon at the Polo Solidale della Legalità "F. Vinci", where director Gubitosi will meet the students of the SRC who will have the privilege of experiencing a moment of training and dialogue with the creator of the most important children's festival in the world. The SRC, which is preparing for this day with enthusiasm, confirms itself as a point of reference, both for the training of aspiring actors, but also for the implementation of activities and projects that contribute to the cultural and socio-economic development not only of the territory, but of the entire region, thanks to important and internationally renowned collaborations and partnerships, such as Giffoni, an added value of the entire cultural offer proposed.
