The Good Mothers, the brand new Italian TV series from Disney+ was presented in the "series" category at the Berlinale, winning the coveted Golden Bear.
An exceptional cast presents the true story of the courageous women who dared to challenge the 'ndrangheta, their own family, to build a better future for themselves and their children.
Among the big names of the main characters such as Micaela Ramazzotti, Gaia Girace and Valentina Bellè. the very young students of the Calabria Acting School stand out, Nicole Sorace and Vincenzo Oppedisano, who in the series play the children of one of the protagonists.
“A great pride, an extraordinary result for the SRC, which continues not only to deal with actor training but transforms training into job opportunities.” Here are the words of the director of the Calabria Acting School, Walter Cordopatri, thrilled by the result brought home by Vincenzo and Nicole, who attend the Junior and Medium Class.
The words of Giorgio Colangeli, coordinator of the SRC, are no different: "For the School, these work opportunities are an extraordinary result: many SRC students are achieving great results on set. Congratulations to the entire cast and director of The Good Mothers for this prestigious award"
The Good Mothers, directed by Julian Jarrold and Elisa Amoruso and shot for six weeks between Reggio Calabria, Palmi and Fiumara, with the support of the Calabria Film Commission Foundation, will be distributed from 5 April on Disney+.
The SRC continues strongly in this direction: Federica Sottile, an SRC graduate student, is also on the set of the film Runner, an action thriller directed by Nicola Barnaba. Lots of news coming soon on the projects, on and off set, of the Calabria Acting School.
