On 2 July 2018, at 9.00 pm, at the external theater of the Polo Solidale per la Legalità of Cittanova "Francesco Vinci", in Viale Merano, "Being more - Alla conquest of a dream" will be staged, a show directed by Dimi De Delphes, stage direction by Paolo Merlini and artistic direction by Walter Cordopatri.
The project aims to create a theatrical show, based on the interaction between young non-EU citizens and Italians, which will allow us to delve deeper into the theme of emigration, human rights and integration in the Calabrian territory.
The young actors will stage a symbolic journey that starts from Lagos (Nigeria), passes through Tripoli (Libya) and arrives in Lampedusa (Italy). On the same journey, dreams, hope, fear, and the desire for a new life will bring out the difficulties of one of the tragedies that our era is facing. We will try to grasp the differences between habits and customs that each character brings with them. In this way, an intercultural exchange will be structured, which will allow us to increase the awareness that we are all "in the same boat". The show can be considered a unique in the Calabrian panorama, as it addresses a current and complex drama in realistic and at the same time proactive terms.
The show will be staged outdoors. The associations that wish to be present will have the opportunity to participate with a stand and their own information material, upon communication to the management. Entrance is free.
