Final statement "The beard of death"

Text by Leonida Repaci, directed by Francesco Gigliotti

Great success for the debut of The Beard of Death! On February 14, at the Gentile Theater in Cittanova, the audience enthusiastically welcomed the original production from the Calabria Acting School, confirming the effectiveness and synergy of director and performers.

Luca Biagini, in the role of Leonida Repaci, enchanted the audience with an acting performance of great depth, supported by the actors and actresses of the Calabria Acting School. Among the performers we find already well-known artists such as the director of the School, Walter Cordopatri, Renata Falcone and Federica Sottile, who demonstrated great professionalism by challenging themselves with highly experimental direction, exploring new interpretative nuances with passion and dedication. Next to them, the students of the Triennio and SRC Lab, to whom deserved praise goes: even though they were very young, girls and boys still in the early stages of their acting training, they showed great commitment and stage maturity, proving themselves fully up to the challenge.

In addition to the acting workshop based on his experimental method “Plastic and Dynamic Art Theater”, Francis Gigliotti he left us an extravagant and sharp direction that knows how to capture the attention of the spectators until the last line.

The warm enthusiasm critics and audiences have consecrated this premiere as a authentic triumph, marking a turning point for the Calabria Acting School. Strengthened by this experience, the School will not only continue its educational mission, but will also aspire to the creation of a stable company and its own theatrical production. The project will stand out for its essential scenography and valuable texts, leaving room for the most authentic artistic research.
