Cittanova: the Calabria Acting School is born

The Calabria Acting School opens its doors to the territory as a sign of its commitment to serving culture and art. Presentation of the project on Saturday 21 January 2017, at 5pm at the Polo Solidale per la Legalità in Cittanova.

The event, sponsored by the Municipality of Cittanova, will see the participation of the actor Giorgio Colangeli, protagonist of the successful TV series "Braccialetti Rossi".

The activities will start with the ribbon cutting at the entrance to the Polo. This will be followed by a tour of the structure which will host the numerous SRC courses, followed by the presentation of the training courses and the project in the conference room. Moderated by the journalist Antonino Raso, the mayor of Cittanova Francesco Cosentino will speak for institutional greetings, Emiliano Chillico, representative of the Prósôpon Cultural Association, and the guest of honor Giorgio Colangeli. In closing, the word goes to the artistic director Walter Cordopatri who will present the teachers and students of the SRC to the public. Once the work is finished, the cutting of the cake and the opening of the buffet.

The inaugural event will see the following involved in support of the Calabria Acting School: the Municipality of Cittanova, the cultural association "Prósôpon", the communication agency Genus Hi-Tech, the cultural association "Lato2", the Polo Solidale per la Legalità of Cittanova, the pizzeria "Alexander" and the "Porto degli Ulivi" shopping center in Rizziconi.

«The Src is an experience that looks at innovation in the cultural field – explains the artistic director Walter Cordopatri – and in this sense we are starting an ambitious path that intends to merge together the needs of art and the peculiarities of the territory. At the moment there are no acting schools in Calabria and we, with courage, try to give a qualified opportunity to many people, especially young people, who wish to learn and compete in the field of acting. We create a real school - he continues - and for this we rely on recognized professionals focusing on their skills. Saturday will be a beautiful day - concludes Cordopatri - and I want to thank the Municipality of Cittanova and all the partners and sponsors who intended to support this project. A special thank you goes to Giorgio Colangeli who, despite his many commitments, decided to come to Cittanova to give his contribution to our journey."
