After the forced stop dictated by the pandemic, they start again at the Calabria Acting School, conceived and directed by Walter Cordopatri, the in-depth internships that it offers to its students every year and beyond. The first one this year will take place on 29, 30 and 31 May and will focus on “Costa method”, i.e. the mime method created by the historic theater director Orazio Costa, considered one of the greatest exponents of twentieth-century European theater pedagogy.
He will take care of the internship Mirella Bordoni, actress, director and acting teacher, who was Orazio Costa's student, as well as his collaborator for about twenty years. Bordoni has taught in various Italian theater and cinema schools, she was also director Cordopatri's teacher at the Experimental Center of Cinematography. Specifically, through the "Costa Method", he transmits to students a technique that uses body movements to arrive at the representation of emotions through the foreground. The actress and teacher also published a book in 2017, entitled "At the roots of expressivity. Acting lessons according to the Costa method".
Director Cordopatri, enthusiastic about the event, stated that «it is a great honor to have the wonderful teacher Mirella Bordoni at the SRC. Having been his student, I can confirm that all the kids will have an unforgettable experience, discovering a necessary and very fascinating acting method. Mirella taught me that behind an expression, a look and a close-up, there is incredible research, analysis and preparation. If I am an actor today, I owe it to her too." Through this internship, the SRC once again demonstrates the quality of its teaching and the great professionalism that orbits within it.
